On a day filled with stories of tragedies and scandals, including a lawsuit against Anderson Guest House owner Robert Dupont, and a hearing in the McDonald County sex cult story, the best story on tonight's 6 p.m. news focused on a situation that has affected everyone in the Joplin area- road conditions following the recent snow and ice storm.
KOAM devoted more than the typical 30 seconds to a minute and a half (an eternity on local television newscasts) on the story, and assigned its best reporter to the job.
Eighteen-year Channel 7 veteran Lisa Olliges is one of a handful of local TV reporters who are willing to dig in (something that would come in handy considering the snowy nature of this story) and get the story. Ms. Olliges also does what all good reporters does- she asks the questions the viewers want asked.
I didn't think I could take another weather-related story. Fortunately, Ms. Olliges' stories are anything but typical and KOAM gave her the time to tell the story.
I can't stand the woman. I have had to deal with her only once and that was enough.....I also can't stand to watch her on t.v.! She seems so uptight.
