Neosho media, traditional and non-traditional, on top of shooting story

Neosho's media has been right on top of the shooting and hostage situation at the First Congregational Church this afternoon.
Neosho Forums reports that at one point, approximately 50 people were held hostage by the lone gunman, and that the Newton County Sheriff's Department, Neosho Police Department, and Missouri Highway Patrol were on the scene.
The Neosho Daily News has also been on the scene with this so far:

t approximately 2 p.m. Sunday, an unknown gunman entered a church near downtown Neosho, Mo.

A press conference is scheduled for 4:15 p.m. Sunday. Stay tuned to www.neoshodailynews.com for more information as it becomes available."

Neosho Forums reports that CNN is receiving its information on the shooting from a Neosho Daily News reporter. East Newton and Missouri Southern State University graduate Todd Higdon is on the scene for the Daily.

The News-leader has it on their website now. Still didn't see it on the Globe's website though. You would think with their closer proximity, Joplin would have been all over it but I guess not.

I read the News-Leader often and many times they will have a Jasper/Newton county story before the Globe (or local television). I have read about traffic accidents in Newton county in the News-Leader and not seen anything listed in the Joplin paper (at least the front page). What is wrong with our local media especially on weekends!
