It is a stereotype and a fiction that most pro-lifers are unyielding, one-issue nuts.
That is one reason why the murder of late-term abortion provider George Tiller last week damaged the pro-life movement, by allowing one zealot, accused killer Scott Roeder, to become the picture of the movement.
And now, the media is having fun portraying Roeder as the whining coward he is. (Let's face it, where is the courage in firing a bullet into an unarmed man in a church?). This passage is taken from a an Associated Press article:
The man accused of killing Kansas abortion provider George Tiller said Thursday from the county jail where he is being held that he's "being treated as a criminal" even though he hasn't been convicted.
In a brief telephone conversation with The Associated Press, Scott Roeder also disputed what he called "broad brush" characterizations of him as being anti-government.
People like Roeder offer the pro-abortion movement an opportunity to demonize those who disagree with their views on abortion. They also hurt the cause. For a pro-life person to commit a murder is the very definition of hypocrisy.
All the third-trimester babies, now at least for a time avoiding their skulls crushed and brains sucked out in the most horrifying fashion, are sighing with relief due to the actions of this man...
ReplyDeleteUntil another abortion butcher eagerly takes his place, that is...
What a sad country we live in, where third-trimester abortions are still legal in some states.
What a sad country we live in where Right Wing crazies don't understand the rule of law and their anonymous apologists cheer them on.

Randy, please tell me that pro-abortion was not YOUR word. You used pro-life instead of anti-choice and i'm okay with that. I am pro-choice but NEVER pro-abortion.
ReplyDeleteYou all run this place like a prison!!!
