As anyone who has read The Turner Report over the years knows, I have written about dozens of politicians in not exactly flattering terms.
Some have been named to my Turner Report Hall of Shame, an honor reserved for those who have accepted the most gifts from lobbyists. Others have been involved in various scandals or brushes with the law.
Only one politician who has been the subject of my posts has had someone designated to whine every time I write about him, and that is Sen. Gary Nodler, R-Joplin, a candidate for the Seventh District Congressional Seat currently held by Roy Blunt.
Isn't it about time that this pretense that these responses are coming from Nodler supporters...without Nodler's knowledge, come to an end?
Mrs. Nodler, at least, responded to my posts about the meals she and her husband have received courtesy of lobbyists, though I would hazard a guess that her response did not go over well.
Apparently, Gary Nodler would prefer to hide behind someone else (and an anonymous someone else at that). No wonder half of the Joplin area representatives are backing Jack Goodman.

Nodler typifies what is wrong with government today. He is the epitome of greed for power.
ReplyDeleteWhy is he having a fundraiser for his senate campaign when he is running for congress? He obviously has know for a while that he is running and could have easily changed his plans since the invites just went out a little over a week ago.
Very weird...
Gary Nodler has no business running for Congress. Nodler in a Congress with no term limits is frightening. Thank goodness we will be rid of him after this term.
ReplyDeleteAfter reading Nodler's comments in his announcement that he was running for Congress, I can see that he is making a direct appeal to the Christians of southwest Missouri who would rather vote for someone because he says he is Christian person rather than looking at the individual and seeing where he really stands on the issues and how that stance aligns with the Constitution. Why do you think Roy Blunt kept getting reelected again and again? I personally know people who worked with Nodler in Washington when he was Gene Taylor's aide and I was informed in no uncertain terms that he was an idiot and made himself out to be a lot more important to Taylor than he really was. He definitely will not be getting my vote. As to who I will support I am uncertain. Who knows I may decide to run myself. Do we really need more career politicians in Washington?
I happen to kow at least 5 of the Nodler supporters, so why do you refer to them as the "nodler suporter" instead of supporters?
ReplyDeleteWow....looks like you are doing all of the whining and complaining Turner. Funny that you are so obsessed that when people don't see it your way, you try to rally support for your cause by bullying. Notice that I haven't even mentioned Nodler until and could care less about his supporters.
ReplyDeleteDon't blame me for the monster you created. I voted for Gary Burton in 2002.
ReplyDeleteSince you didn't print this the first time I will send a shortened report. After your complaint I went back and did a count. This is what your recent posts about Nodler show: 9 had no comments at all. 3 had a single anti-Nodler comment. Of those with multiple comments 13 were anti-Nodler 6 were pro-Nodler and 8 were anti-Turner and the rest were exchanges between you and commenter’s having nothing to do with Nodler, of course all of these comments could come from one or two people. Facts are troublesome things Randy and they show that there is no validity to your post, do you have the courage to print this on the front page and not just the comment section. For the record, this is not a pro or anti Nodler comment, just an observation about your fixation on him and hypersensitivity to any defense of him. Your attitude does seem very weird. Your comments also seem to come from an abnormal group. A recent poll from a D.C. Research firm showed Nodler had a 67% approval rating in his district and 8% disapproval.
ReplyDeleteGary Burton should have been our senator all along. Too bad he lost to an idiot by just a few votes, with the help of another (super) idiot: the outgoing senator Singleton.
ReplyDeleteHere we go again. In the past few months, I have had three or four comments accusing me of deleting comments and all of them have come from Nodler supporters trying to plant the idea that I am censoring what they are saying. The only comments that I have deleted from this blog are ones with vulgar language or which are potentially libelous. The Nodler supporters like to whine every time I call them out, but one fact is indisputable- I am the one who is giving them the chance to respond. The fact that they have done so poorly is not my problem.
ReplyDeleteGranted, you seem to have a fixation on Nodler, but last time I checked this is your blog and you can write what you wish. The people who take exception to your writings are free to a)not read your blog or b)establish their own blog to publish their own opinions.
ReplyDeleteFor the record Randy I did post a slightly more detailed comment on here last night than the one you posted today. If you did not delete it, there is a problem with your screening system because the site acknowledeged receipt of the comment. I am not a Nodler supporter but a truth teller.

ReplyDeleteI see nothing wrong with Randy's posts on Nodler. Nodler is a public figure. He spends my tax money and decides what my tax money should be spent on in his post as a state senator. He wants to have a bigger say in how to spend more of my tax money by going to Washington. If you ever set up a google alert for Nodler's name, you would see he shows up in the state-wide news media far more often than he shows up in our local media, which should worry us. It means our local media is not covering him enough and keeping his feet to the fire like it should. Nodler made a lot of announcements and appearances in the past few weeks and Randy is writing about them. What's wrong with that? How is that a fixation? Nodler whiners need to grow up.
ReplyDeleteSince I could be anybody I want here, I find it ridiculous to assume I am a Nodler supporter. However, I am a REPUBLICAN and Despise Jack Goodman.
ReplyDeleteDoes he represent us?
