Skelton joins Missouri republicans in voting against health care plan

Missouri's Congressional delegation voted 6-3 against the health care bill, which passed by a 219-212 margin Sunday night.

Fourth District Congressman Ike Skelton, a Democrat, joined Roy Blunt, Todd Akin,Jo Ann Emerson, Blaine Luetkemeyer, and Sam Graves, in casting no votes. Voting for the bill were Emanuel Cleaver, Lacy Clay, and Russ Carnahan, all Democrats.

    I hope he has primary challenge so that we can remove him from our party.

    The only reason he voted with the Republicans is because Nancy released him. They know he is up for the fight of his life in the the August primary.

    Anonymous 8:03, I thought the Democrats were supposed to be the all-inclusive "big tent" party, not ideological purists like Republicans.

    In any event, a great move in the right direction for Ike, just too little too late. His district has changed over the years, and he hasn't changed with it. Time to retire.
