Long: I may not look the part, but I'll do the right thing

In a new ad released by Billy Long's Congressional campaign, the candidate pledges to do the right thing and emphasizes that he will not be like the career politicians who are currently in Washington:

The logic in that last statement (if you're fed up with career politicians in Washington, I'd sincerely appreciate your vote --paraphrase) is majorly flawed.

He is implying that he is the only candidate who can clean up the mess in DC but he offers no proof of his statement. Why, it's just like a....campaign promise! Why, that's what career politicians do! Why, that means Billy Long is a, gasp, dare I say it?, A CAREER POLITICIAN!

    Actually, he is a buffoon.

It seems more buffoon to assert that someone is a career politician when they've not yet had a career as a politician.

Just another tirade of comments that make no sense at all. If you're going to post, at least have the ideas thought out a bit more intelligently before rambling on the web.

Then try this: with absolutely no practice or experience, Billy has already waded into the political sewer up to his chin(s). Not a career pol himself, he went out and bought a few guys who HAD been around the block, who then called in a few favors and got endorsements from national pols who owed them favors from previous campaigns. These guys drummed up a dishonest ad about a law one of them actually lobbied for and claimed his opponents had sanctioned an ad with no proof, all the while bemoaning dishonest ads. And he did all of this before ever setting foot in the washington he says he can clean up.

    Not bad for a newbie . . .
