Nodler: Billy Long is a liar

Sen. Gary Nodler, R-Joplin, just issued a response to the accusations that have been leveled against him by his fellow GOP candidate for Seventh District Congress, Billy Long:
During the last few days candidate Billy Long has abandoned both honesty and decency.  He is running a totally false attack ad accusing me of two things that are untrue.  First he has charged that Americans for Job Security, an organization that is running an ad critical of Long’s vote in favor of a wasteful federal earmark, are my “buddies”.  Mr. Long is lying.  I have never met anyone from the organization, I have never communicated with anyone from this organization. Long’s claim is a lie, pure and simple.
The second problem with the ad is that it attacks me for voting for $100 million for a single developer.  The problem is that the Missourilegislature has never appropriated $100 million for a single developer in the form of an appropriation or in the form of a tax credit; there is no $100 million dollar program that I know of.
The only program that I am aware of involving development is a tax credit for development of property in St. Louis Missouri That credit does not reach $100 million over its entire multi-year lifetime.  It could not possibly be what Mr. Long is referring to, because the lobbyist for that effort is James Harris of the Billy Long campaign.
Billy Long should stop spending the last few days of this campaign lying about his opponents and try to find one good reason for a voter in this district to support him!

Good for Nodler. Will the mainstream media touch it? Probably not.

  3. While I am not necessarily disagreeing with Mr. Nodler, I would have to assume the tone of this release means that the race is extremely close and every single vote is going to count.

  4. That would seem to be a safe bet.

Me neither. Or the 2 million "pork" for a storm shelter at MSSC.... Ha!
an indoor football practice is what that subreptiously sp. was secured for by Nodler....

What did Bruce do with it? wasted 400,000 in architects and planning and no shelter or indoor practice facility for the jocks. what happened to the rest?...

    We still don't know...

You say you can't vote for Nodler based on his treatment of the disabled which is understandable, but in the same sentence you say you will vote for a lying blowhard liar? What a hypocrite you are....choose someone besides either one of these two men

Anyone besides me notice that the only candidate caught up in this mess who isn't jumping into the sewer is Jack Goodman. My advice: vote for him or top whining about negative campaigning.

Mr. Nodler has done more for the disabled than the sum total of all the other candidates in this race....

My issue with voting for Jack Goodman is that he looks like another (would be) member of the ruling class; there's no sign he'd be any better than Blunt the father if he wins the election.

Long is a coin flip: he may turn out to be dud, he may get absorbed by the Inside the Beltway blob, but there's a chance he won't.

I'm not sure who to vote for, but I am sure our ruling class is hurtling the nation into ruin and that the sooner we start doing something about them the better.

Billy is a liar. He pledged not to go to negative. He doesn't care about the truth or being honest, the ONLY thing he wants is the POWER of being in office. He LIED about Gary and Jack, he LIED about earmarks, he LIED about not going negative. I would check EVERY OTHER NAME ON THE BALLOT before I checked the box next to Billy.

He is a no-good swindler that belongs in jail, not congress.

One thing we need to do in this country is to stop supporting people who hate. I have yet to see a Republican candidate in this district who can give a positive message. A Congressional representative should be able to do certain things for the districts they serve, and should also be able to portray that they realize what is required of them in order to serve the greater good in Washington. Instead, we get tons of information on what they will NOT support. This country was founded on principles of human rights and leveling the playing field for all; instead, all we get are people who are against labeled groups, who root for the wealthy pockets and big business, and throw around platitudes and buzzwords that indicate they are never going to support the rights of the disenfranchised among us. I get really tired of hearing about "support for the unborn." What about those already here? Where is their support? Truth is, you had better not count on any support if you are poor, black, Latino, female, or not a rich, white male. You won't get it.
    They are ALL liars.
