Peggy Newton lawyer to Globe: We deny any wrongdoing

The  battle has just begun for Joplin businesswoman Peggy Newton, who was indicted by a federal grand jury this week on 25 counts of fraud and forgery. From Jeff Lehr's article posted moments ago on the Joplin Globe website:

“This is one that’s going to be highly contested and we deny any wrongdoing,” John LeWright, an attorney for Newton, told the Globe. “This looks like a case that went into bankruptcy and people who were friends are no longer.”

Of course, "we" deny any wrongdoing is a correct and truthful statement because the lawyer wasn't involved! Not this one anyway. I question some of her past lawyers ethics though. Sure are a lot of character witnesses on these comments and very few are for the defendent. Shame Shame Shame on you, Peggy! Making a mockery of the fine Newton name! I bet this has Bunny's undies in a bunch!
