Winter storm warning for Pittsburg, Nevada areas

INCLUDING THE CITIES OF...FORT SCOTT...PITTSBURG...WARSAW...
COLE CAMP...VERSAILLES...NEVADA...APPLETON CITY...OSCEOLA
321 AM CST TUE FEB 4 2014

...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM CST
WEDNESDAY...

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 AM
CST WEDNESDAY.

* SHORT TERM TRENDS...SNOW WILL BEGIN DEVELOPING DURING THE
  PREDAWN HOURS INTO THE MORNING COMMUTE FROM SOUTHEASTERN KANSAS
  INTO CENTRAL MISSOURI. A DUSTING OF SNOW MAY OCCUR BY THE
  MORNING COMMUTE WHICH WILL LEAD TO DETERIORATING ROAD CONDITIONS.
  SNOWFALL WILL INCREASE IN INTENSITY DURING THE MORNING HOURS.

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...FROM EARLY THIS MORNING THROUGH
  TONIGHT FOR LOCATIONS ALONG AND NORTH OF A LINE FROM GIRARD
  KANSAS TO VERSAILLES MISSOURI.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...SNOW ACCUMULATIONS WILL RANGE FROM 5 TO 7
  WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS POSSIBLE.

* WINDS AND VISIBILITIES...HEAVY SNOWFALL RATES COULD REDUCE THE
  VISIBILITY TO LESS THAN A HALF MILE AT TIMES. WIND GUSTS UP TO 20
  MPH COULD CAUSE SOME BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW.

* IMPACTS...TRAVEL CONDITIONS WILL RAPIDLY DETERIORATE THIS
  MORNING. ROADS WILL BECOME SNOW COVERED AND TREACHEROUS.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING.  SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF SNOW
ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. ONLY TRAVEL IN AN
EMERGENCY. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL...CONSIDER TAKING A WINTER STORM KIT
ALONG WITH YOU. THIS KIT SHOULD INCLUDE SUCH ITEMS AS TIRE
CHAINS...BOOSTER CABLES...A FLASHLIGHT...SHOVEL...BLANKETS...EXTRA
CLOTHING AND ANYTHING ELSE THAT WOULD HELP YOU SURVIVE IN CASE YOU
BECOME STRANDED.
