Webb City teacher waives preliminary hearing, will stand trial on sex charge

A former Webb City High School vocal music teacher has been bound over for trial on a charge of sexual contact with a student

Carrie Njoroge, who was represented by Springfield attorney Dee Wampler, waived her right to a preliminary hearing this afternoon in Jasper County Circuit Court.

Her first appearance in the trial division is scheduled for 9 a.m. August 15.

The probable cause statement says Mrs. Njoroge is being charged with an after-hours sex act with an 18-year-old high school student that allegedly took place Tuesday, April 15, in her office at the school.
