But don't carve this stuff in stone. There will be more revisions. And more. That place isn't anywhere near ready.
ReplyDeleteYou have to wonder what an environment like that will do to kids who have asthma or allergies. The dust and smells will not be good for those poor kids.
ReplyDeleteANYONE WITH ANY SENSE AT ALL KNOWS THAT BUILDING SHOULD NOT BE OPENED NEXT WEEK. WHERE IS THE DAMNED BOARD?!!!? This is shameful to lead students and parents along this way. The Board needs to take control of this situation because CJ Huff doesn't have the courage to do it. He wants the cameras and could care less what happens to our kids. We will sue the district if our kids are hurt or get sick, and make no doubt of that.
ReplyDeleteMy husband works there and he says he wouldn't put our kids in there any time soon. Too much dust and too many ways for them to get hurt. Joplin needs to slow down and think this through.
ReplyDeleteI volunteered a few hours in there today and was happy to do it. But after an hour I already had a sore throat from the fumes and dust and a headache before the time was up. There is no way to open the windows. They want to put kids in there? No way. Needs aired out with all the doors wide open for several days.
ReplyDeleteMission Accomplished!
ReplyDeleteI think they are rushing this. I don't really want my son to go there till it's 100% done and safe. If Huff can't care about the safety of our Joplin students we should get him out of Joplin district.
