Video- A look at the security system for the new Joplin High School

This report from KODE's Gretchen Bolander covers the state-of-the-art security system at the new Joplin High School:

"We really want a driver's license. And we run it through the system. They enter the person's name. They're okayed to be in the building. We print a badge for them and then they go about their way," said Dr. Kerry Sachetta, Joplin High School Principal.

It's not just a generic pass that says "visitor."

"It's very specific, who they are, they're here for JHS. And a picture of them is also on the badge," said Dr. Sachetta.

The process itself is also specific.

"The system checks for sex offenders and can also check for anything else that we might want to put in ourselves," he said.

For example, someone involved in a child custody situation.
