...WIND CHILL ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO 10 AM
CST THURSDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SPRINGFIELD HAS ISSUED A WIND
CHILL ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 PM THIS EVENING TO
10 AM CST THURSDAY.

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...BITTERLY COLD WIND CHILLS CAN BE
EXPECTED THIS EVENING THROUGH TOMORROW MORNING ACROSS THE
  EASTERN MISSOURI OZARKS.

* WIND CHILL VALUES...WIND CHILLS BETWEEN -10 TO -15 DEGREES CAN
BE EXPECTED WITH ACTUAL AIR TEMPERATURES BETWEEN ZERO TO -5 DEGREES.

* IMPACTS...WIND CHILLS OF THIS MAGNITUDE CAN RESULT IN
FROSTBITE ON EXPOSED SKIN IN AS LITTLE AS 30 MINUTES. PEOPLE
WHO ARE OUTDOORS WITHOUT SUFFICIENT PROTECTION WILL RUN A HIGH
  RISK OF FROSTBITE AND HYPOTHERMIA.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A WIND CHILL ADVISORY MEANS THAT VERY COLD AIR AND WINDS WILL
COMBINE TO GENERATE LOW WIND CHILLS. THIS WILL RESULT IN FROST
BITE AND LEAD TO HYPOTHERMIA IF PRECAUTIONS ARE NOT TAKEN. IF YOU
MUST VENTURE OUTDOORS...MAKE SURE YOU WEAR A HAT AND GLOVES.
