A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL
3 PM CST THIS AFTERNOON.

* SHORT TERM TRENDS...MODERATE TO AT TIMES HEAVY SNOW CONTINUES
  ALONG AND SOUTH OF U.S. 60 EARLY THIS MORNING...WITH SNOWFALL
  RATES OF AROUND 1 INCH PER HOUR LIKELY WITHIN THE HEAVIEST AREAS
  OF SNOW. LIGHTER SNOW WILL PERSIST THIS MORNING FURTHER TO THE
  NORTH AND WEST.

  ADDITIONAL SNOWFALL AMOUNTS WILL RANGE FROM A DUSTING TO ONE
  INCH ACROSS CENTRAL MISSOURI AND MUCH OF SOUTHEASTERN
  KANSAS...TO ONE TO TWO INCHES ACROSS THE INTERSTATE 44
  CORRIDOR...TO TWO TO FOUR INCHES ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL MISSOURI
  AND THE EASTERN OZARKS.

* TIMING AND AREAS AFFECTED...SNOW WILL GRADUALLY END FROM
  NORTHWEST TO SOUTHEAST LATER THIS MORNING INTO THE AFTERNOON.

* SNOW AND SLEET ACCUMULATIONS...THE HEAVIEST STORM TOTAL SNOW AND
  SLEET ACCUMULATIONS WILL BE ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL
  MISSOURI...WHERE FIVE TO SEVEN INCHES OF SNOW CAN BE EXPECTED.
  AMOUNTS TO THE NORTH AND WEST WILL BE LESS...WITH STORM TOTAL
  AMOUNTS OF THREE TO FIVE INCHES ACROSS THE I-44 CORRIDOR...AND
  TWO TO FOUR INCHES ACROSS CENTRAL MISSOURI AND SOUTHEASTERN
  KANSAS.

* WINDS AND VISIBILITY...VISIBILITIES OF LESS THAN A HALF MILE
  WILL BE COMMON IN AREAS OF MODERATE AND HEAVY SNOW.

* IMPACTS...ROADS WILL REMAIN SNOW COVERED THIS MORNING ACROSS THE
  AREA...RESULTING IN HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS.

A WINTER STORM WARNING FOR HEAVY SNOW MEANS SEVERE WINTER WEATHER
CONDITIONS ARE EXPECTED OR OCCURRING.  SIGNIFICANT AMOUNTS OF
SNOW ARE FORECAST THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DANGEROUS. ONLY TRAVEL IN
AN EMERGENCY. IF YOU MUST TRAVEL...CONSIDER TAKING A WINTER STORM
KIT ALONG WITH YOU. THIS KIT SHOULD INCLUDE SUCH ITEMS AS TIRE
CHAINS...BOOSTER CABLES...A FLASHLIGHT...SHOVEL...BLANKETS...
EXTRA CLOTHING AND ANYTHING ELSE THAT WOULD HELP YOU SURVIVE IN
CASE YOU BECOME STRANDED.
