As you might have expected, blogger and frequent Joplin Globe guest columnist Anson Burlingame has weighed in on his blog the "resignation" of Joplin R-8 Superintendent C. J. Huff.
Just ask yourself why in the world would such a man “retire” now. Straight answer, he would not so retire. Instead he decided to leave in the HOPES that good people would continue to carry forward the improvements made over the last four tumultuous years in R-8. But we all know that will NOT happen, any good men or women ready to stand in the place of Dr. Huff and face the onslaught of the virulence seen against Dr. Huff ever since Turner was fired.
This BOE will never back a strong Superintendent ready to think and carry out his or her own ideas to improve public education in ways that make sense and counter the futile efforts of the past. Dr. Huff has been doing exactly that and faced a natural disaster as well. Look what has happened to him now, despite the gratuitous, clammy words spewed forth by a President of the BOE that has no idea yet what he really faces.
Right now I trust the stubbornness of Mike Landis and the courage of Lynda Banwart on this BOE. I hold Fort, Martucci and Kimbrough in low regard over professional, not personal, disagreements. I am not yet certain where Koch fits into that framework but I am deeply concerned that he is in far over his head in a real, public mess and has no experience or ideas how to get out of the mess.
I would strongly suggest that the board include Anson Burlingame in its decision-making process when it comes to the selection of a new superintendent. Ask him which candidates he likes and immediately eliminate them from consideration.
Landis is now leaving the BOE. Rats deserting a sinking ship.
ReplyDeleteMr Burlingame, are you upset that your meal ticket has left the building. You and he can still sit together in the Huff Lair and braid each others hair. Go away Anson, just go away.
ReplyDeleteLike the Phoenix, a Master B.S.'er rises from the ashes; ready to keep the controversy alive. Now is the time to move forward with the future of our children and work to make the Joplin School System the education al powerhouse it once was.
ReplyDeleteHey Anson, he "retired" because we the people have had enough of his crap. And if he is such a good man, as you say, he would have fought the good fight and continued his vision for the district. But what did he do? He saw the writing on the wall and realized his self centered, self promoting ways had out stayed their welcome and folded up his snake oil tent.
ReplyDeleteNobody cares what you think, Mr. Burlingame. By the way, just who the hell are you?
ReplyDeleteAnd you Mr. Burlingame are held with no regard at all.
ReplyDeleteJust like any bully, when confronted he cries and runs away. Here's hoping the community can now move forward and make sound decisions "for the kids".
ReplyDeleteIt seems your opinion is not what really counts!.......It is the Joplin Community opinions that count! Let the BOE do their job! ...... and stop talking bad about people! Misery loves company.
ReplyDeleteAnson the blowhard spews again.
ReplyDeleteAnd who trusts you?
ReplyDeleteOkay Turner readers and commentors, just to be fair, let me try and clarify exactly what Mr. Burlingame is saying:
ReplyDelete"Doiy, doiy, duh, me super smaht, me talk big goodly, Cj good, u b baaaad, dahee."
I hope this helps.
The only thing this man said that is correct, is that Huff did not retire, but it was strongly suggested that he leave. My guess. And he is already attacking Koch and his clammy words? That is just plain disgusting. What is your real problem Burlingame? And now Landis gone. What will you write about now?
ReplyDeleteI don't know Mr. Burlingame, but is he truly as uneducated as he made himself sound? He seems to have been under a rock the last three years or is herelated to Huff?
ReplyDeleteI would like to see him try to get elected to the board, let's see him do something other than express himself.
ReplyDeleteNo one cares what you or the Glibe think!
