The news that Speaker of the House John Diehl, R-Town and Country has been accused of sexting with a 19-year-old Missouri Southern State University intern (something for which he apologized for earlier today) didn't faze Rep. Bill Reiboldt, R-Seneca, who had one of Missouri Southern State University's interns working for him before the university pulled all of the interns out of Jefferson City.
The following passage comes from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
One of the Joplin interns worked in the office of Rep. Bill Reiboldt, R-Neosho, who said Wednesday that he was surprised by the allegations.
“I haven’t had time to think about it,” Reiboldt said. “I guess I’ll be the last to know if anything occurred. I go home at night.”
Reiboldt said Diehl has “done a great job” as speaker and has supported agriculture bills that Reiboldt sponsored. “I respect the man,” Reiboldt said.
Let me guess, "he is a good christian man."
ReplyDeleteHe is.
DeleteHmmm, per this account she's hired a Democrat as an attorney:
ReplyDeleteThe 19-year-old intern, who was not named in the Star’s report, declined to comment to the Post-Dispatch on Wednesday. She referred questions to her attorney, Philip Willoughby, a former Democratic state representative from Kansas City. He could not immediately be reached.
Which suggests entrapment, although if that was the case, the Speaker nonetheless took the bait.
I doubt very seriously that any young woman would sleep with that Dork for political purposes, other than having a chip in the Jefferson City two step.
ReplyDelete9:57 AM: very possibly, but there are no accusations of improper physical contact, just electronic, right?
ReplyDeleteThank you Bill for staying focused on what you are there to do. Newton County appreciates all that you do for our area!
ReplyDeleteIf you can bring yourself to read the texts in question, it is obvious that the speaker and the intern had more than a texting relationship. So what Rep. Reiboldt is saying is that he respects a 49-year-old married man who is the father of 3 even after he has slept with a 19-year-old girl. Rep. Reiboldt says he respects that man because Diehl helped him out with his own political agenda. I have a feeling that respect would be absent had Diehl not helped Reiboldt out. Now I have no respect for either. Keep marching to the drum on the Right, Bill, no matter how bad it gets. In your neck of the woods it might not matter much, anyway, so long as you keep up the pro-life, anti-gay marriage rhetoric, you can get away with about anything, even respecting an adulterer who apparently has a thing for teens.
ReplyDeleteSuch a non-issue.....I've never seen the likes.......
ReplyDelete(Btw.......what are you wearing right now, Randy?)
LMAO
The reaction would have been different if the sexting would have been with a young man. Amirite?
