Mediator to hear Jane Doe lawsuit against C. J. Huff, Eggleston

A Springfield  mediator has been selected in an attempt to head off a Joplin woman's lawsuit against former R-8 Superintendent C. J. Huff and North Middle School Principal Brandon Eggleston before it goes to trial.

Documents filed today in U. S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri show that veteran mediator James Newberry of Springfield will meet with both sides on September 25.

This will be the second lawsuit against the Joplin R-8 School District to go through the mediation process in recent weeks. A mediation session for the lawsuit filed by the P1 Group, a Lenexa, Kansas based electrical contracting firm that worked on the Joplin High School construction was held last month and was not successful.

In this case, the Joplin woman, who is being allowed to file as Jane Doe, is suing Huff and Eggleston because of a field trip taken May 8 by North Middle School students to Victory Ministries.

Details of the lawsuit can be found  at this link.
