The Governor has appointed Benjamin L. Becerra (D), of Gallatin; Randee M. Kaiser (R), of Carthage; and Mark S. Owen (R), of Parkville, to the Missouri Sheriff Methamphetamine Relief Taskforce. The Missouri Sheriff Methamphetamine Relief Taskforce was established to administer grants in Missouri related to meth crimes across the state.
Becerra has served as the Daviess County Sheriff, a position he was first elected to in 2008. He has 25 years of experience in law enforcement in Missouri, including serving as a police officer in Kansas City and as chief deputy in Daviess County. The Governor has appointed him for a term ending Feb. 16, 2017.
Kaiser is the elected sheriff of Jasper County and was first elected to that position in 2012. He previously was an officer with the Carthage Police Department, rising to the position of captain/assistant chief. Kaiser holds a master’s degree in criminal justice administration from Southeast Missouri State University. The Governor has appointed him for a term ending Feb. 16, 2017.
Owen was first elected as Platte County Sheriff in 2012 has nearly 40 years experience in law enforcement in Missouri. He has been with the Platte County Sheriff’s Department since 1979. A veteran of the U.S. Marines, Owen also worked for the Kansas City Missouri Fire Department. The Governor has appointed him for a term ending Feb. 16, 2017.
