A federal grand jury indicted James Snare, 30, Reeds, on a felony weapons charge.
The Carthage Police Department stopped Snare November 26 and charged him with driving while intoxicated, driving while revoked and illegal possession of a firearm by a felon. Snare is awaiting trial on those charges in Jasper County Circuit Court.
Snare pleaded guilty April 14, 2014 to felony charges of first degree assault, second degree assault, and unlawful use of a weapon. Judge Gayle Crane sentenced him to 10 years, seven years, and four years on those charges to run concurrently, The sentences were suspended and Snare was placed on supervised probation for five years.
