So you want to be a Seneca superintendent

With the announcement that Seneca Superintendent Jim Cummins has taken the top job in the Neosho R-5 School District, the R-7 District is looking for a new boss.

Following is the advertisement for the position on the district website:

The Seneca School District is seeking applicants for Superintendent of Schools. Seneca Schools are home to approximately 1500 PK-12 students and 250 staff members. Seneca is a member of the Big 8 conference. The district has recently been recognized for Exemplary PLC work and is a national PBL demonstration site for Magnify Learning. In addition to being an emerging academic leader, the district is in sound shape financially. To learn more about the school district visit SenecaR7.com.

Applicants should hold a Missouri superintendent certificate, have at least five years of experience in district and/or building leadership, be strong in finance and operations and be committed to the District’s five focus goals: sustaining strong Professional Learning Communities, Providing a Safe Learning Environment, Promoting a 21st Century Learning Environment, Maximizing Human Resources and Promoting the Seneca R7 Image.
