Harry S. Truman Birthplace in Lamar moved

The small frame house where the future 33rd president of the United States Harry S. Truman was born on May 8, 1884, has been moved so repairs can be made to the foundation.

The house remains on the property, but is not open to visitors while the work is being done.

The visitors center at the Birthplace remains open Wednesday through Saturday.
