House Budget Committee Chairman Cody Smith, R-Carthage, says he completely backs Gov. Mike Parson's decision to cut $180 million from the state budget to deal with the fallout from COVID-19.
"I'm in complete support of the measures the governor has taken with choosing to withhold various appropriations throughout the remainder of the fiscal year," Smith told Brian Hauswirth of Missourinet.
"Certainly, this is unprecedented, but this pandemic has been incredibly disruptive, not only to everyone's daily life that has been affected directly, but also to the economy."
Smith said COVID-19 will have a major impact on the state's revenue, "so (Gov. Parson) has taken the appropriate measures to get a handle on our state budget and our cash flow situation."
Smith's complete audio interview with Missourinet can be found at this link.

Meanwhile back at the ranch...Dolt45's shitweasel son-in-law has some helpful insight into the mind of the American voter:
ReplyDelete"Kushner: Many governors are bad managers, don't just ask for things because you're "scared". "What a lot of the voters are seeing now is that when you elect somebody ... you're trying think about who will be a competent manager during the time of crisis."

Does anyone know of a local news site where people can get news about local politicians without having to see the shrill and four-letter word laced comments from other people who obviously have some type of derangement syndrome? I can’t refer students here anymore because of the foul language and adult themes that have been allowed to be used in the discussion area. I know the comments are moderated, and that means the owner of the blog is complicit in turning this into a site that should be rated for adult language (warnings on search results, etc). It seems to have been happening more and more over the past six months or so, and lately almost every post about a local politician has some sort of foul language and name-calling from (what appears to be) the same handful of shrill people I’m afraid we’ll have to find another place for local news where the adults either don’t allow comments or moderate the comments properly. This blog used to be a place where the commenters set a good example of healthy discourse. Now there is just foul-mouthed name-calling on almost every post, and after that initial comment, no one else wants to engage.
ReplyDeleteYou say the comments here are too shrill for your delicate fee fees 5:06 AM?
ReplyDeleteToo bad. So sad.
You accuse those who say things you don't like of having a derangement syndrome? I suspect you are even dumber and more gullible than you realize. Just like all the others who tell Randy how to do it or you will have to leave and get your local news from another kinder gentler place that's just like the Turner Report but without the things you don't like. Hint: there isn't one.
Sometimes the truth hurts and this is no time for either more right wing lies, or those who would rig the discussion to enable them. Like you want to do. There's a place for you. It's a fake fantasy place called Disneyland, and it's been shut down due to the virus.
You don't like shrill criticism of your president and your politicians?
You and your deplorable friends shouldn't have elected a pussy grabbing serial bankrupt so called 'businessman' as president. Whether you realize it or not, he couldn't give one care for anything other than himself and his family.
Shrill? Shrill is when Donald Trump leads his deplorables to chant things like "arrest her" and "arrest him" when discussing those who haven't kissed his shoes like he demands.
Some of the comments here are too shrill for you? I know medical professionals whose lives are in danger because they have to do their jobs without the proper protective equipment due to the non-response and denial of the crisis by Trump and his stooges.
It is quite likely a number of people I know will die because Trump and his Republican enablers spent the last three years taking apart the exact agencies and scientific and professional staffs that the nation now needs to protect it's citizens and medical professionals. If I don't die from the virus I will be wanting a pound of flesh from ALL those responsible.
Skilled and educated professionals knew this virus was coming early in January. Meantime Trump and his carefully selected band of well connected idiots fiddled and diddled and sat on their thumbs for nearly 3 months. Republicans must have known this was coming, why else unload their stocks as they did? Nothing like selling high and buying low when you know from the classified briefings that the brown stuff is about to hit the fan.
Things would have been different today if you and all the deplorable 'loyal' Republican voters hadn't spent the last 30 years listening to the poisonous right wing media like Fox News and folks like Rush "Barack the Magic Negro" Limbaugh and Sean Hannity. Or Bill O'Reilly before Fox fired that loofah loving lech.
But you and all the other deplorables ate the nonsense and lies the right wing media sold you like it was a deep fried Snickers Bar. Then in 2016 you all voted for a couple of washed up turds like Donald Trump and Mike Pence. Who actually aren't much different or worse than most of the Republican turds you and your fellow Missouri Republican deplorable voters have elected to federal, state and local offices recently.
So in the spirit of Palm Sunday and all the other six days of the week and 365 days of the year I think you should think about sticking your bogus shrill four letter foul adult language complaints where the sun don't sh*ne.
You want news about local politicians? Read their fake news online press releases. Just subscribe and Billy Long and Jason Smith and Ben Baker will be happy to email you everything they think you need to know. No shrill comments actually revealing the truth to correct their lies when you get it direct from the rear end of the elephant. That's what you should do if it gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling inside.
Trump's Surgeon General says we are facing our Pearl Harbor?
More like we have another Benedict Arnold, but you deplorables elected him president, and he is in the powder magazine with his latest pron star and a lit cigar.
