Freeman update includes information on how doctors are caring for home-bound COVID 19 patients

During today's Freeman Health COVID-19 briefing, CEO Paula Baker detailed the efforts being made by the medical professionals to care for those who have contracted the virus but not have been hospitalized.

Physicians are making regular calls to the ones who are recovering at home," Baker said. The doctors are able to answer any questions the people have, as well as being able to determine if their situations have changed.

At this point, Baker said, only one person remains at Freeman with COVID-19.

A second patient is now recovering at home. Freeman has confirmed seven cases with the other five not having severe enough symptoms to require their hospitalization.

Baker also addressed efforts made by Freeman specialists to conduct checkups by phone to keep patients from having to visit the hospital while the COVID-19 situation continues.
