Newton County adds 29 COVID-19 cases, total at 342, Neosho continues to be hot spot

The spike in COVID-19 cases in Newton County continued as health officials announced the confirmation of 29 new cases.

In a news release issued Wednesday evening, the Newton County Health Department said the county has now had 342 cases, with 294 currently in isolation and 375 under quarantine.

An additional 211 people are being monitored for symptoms.








"Newton County is seeing an increase in daily cases as are other surrounding counties," the news release said. The cases have been spread throughout the county, but most of them have been within the Neosho city limits.

Of the 342 cases, 226 have been diagnosed within the last seven days.
