The latest crimes Tyrell Darone Harbin, 27, is charged with committing, assault and armed criminal action, came only two days after he was released from the Jasper County Jail after posting a $2,500 cash bond on a felony weapons charge stemming from a May 13 traffic stop by the Duenweg Police Department.
Judge John Nicholas set the bond July 13 with the added condition that Harbin could not possess any firearms.
The Duenweg traffic stop came at a time when Harbin was already awaiting trial on felony armed robbery, burglary and armed criminal action charges in connection with a March 3 home invasion in which he pointed a gun at a Joplin man, then stole his 65-inch television.
All of the felonies allegedly committed by Harbin have taken place in the past four and a half months.
Shooting at 2925 E. 9th
According to the probable cause statement, when Joplin Police Department officers arrived at 2925 E. 9th Saturday to investigate a report of gunshots, they found a woman who had been shot in her left thigh. She was taken to Freeman West Hospital in critical condition.
A witness was inside the residence at the time of the shooting. The witness identified Tyrell Harbin as the only other person on the bottom floor of the residence with her.
The witness then advised Tyrell fled on foot.
Duenweg traffic stop
When Tyrell Harbin and two other men were pulled over by Duenweg officer Jeff Pearce May 13, Harbin told Pearce he had an AK-47 in the back seat.
The weapon had a round in the chamber and Harbin said he had just bought it.
The driver said he was unaware Harbin had the weapon, but during a search of the vehicle, officers found marijuana, a syringe, cut straws, 20 pocket knives, a stun gun and tools.
Harbin was charged with defacing a firearm.
Robbery, burglary charges
Harbin was charged with robbery, burglary and armed criminal action following a March 3 incident at 2539 Grand Avenue in Joplin, in which he allegedly entered the home of S. D., "brandishing an SKS style rifle," pointed the rifle at S. D. and said, "Heard you wanted to rob me, mother----er."
According to the probable cause statement, Harbin stole S. D.'s black 65-inch television and left in a silver passenger car.
Harbin was arrested and held without bond. Following an April 1 bond reduction hearing, Judge Joseph Hensley released Harbin on his own recognizance with a condition that he was not to go within 1,000 feet of 2539 Grand Avenue.
Harbin was released despite the following notation on the probable cause statement explaining why he should be considered a danger to the victim and to the community:
Mr. Harbin has the following alerts in Joplin Police Records Management System- resist arrest, carries guns, narcotic user, uses other names. Mr. Harbin, historically, has shown a propensity to violence and blatant disregard to state laws.
Mr. Harbin has shown escalation in his crimes to include, but not limited to, assaults first and second degree, burglary first and possession of stolen firearms.
Yet another Harbin in trouble with the law, seems like this has been going on for generations........
ReplyDeleteAmen, I'm sure it was just systemic racism, huh Dantley?
ReplyDeleteWow. Decades of law turning a blind eye. The judge has total disregard to society. What is the Judge hiding? What do the Harbins have on the Judge.
