A Bolivar man is being held on $250,000 bond on charges of first degree murder, domestic assault and armed criminal action in connection with the murder of his 12-year-old son.
The first court appearance for Chad Aaron Baker, 40, is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Polk County Circuit Court.
The body's body was found in a grassy area behind a barn Sunday night, according to the Bolivar Police Department. The autopsy determined that death was caused by blunt force trauma to the head.
The suspected weapon was described as a "metal object" by police.
At the time Baker allegedly killed the boy, he was awaiting trial in Cedar County Circuit Court on two felony charges of endangering the welfare of a child in connection with an October 19 traffic stop by the Cedar County Sheriff's Office in which Baker was also charged with felony driving while intoxicated and for driving without a valid license.

OMG - THIS PIECE OF CRAP - DOES NOT WARRANT ANY AMOUNT OF BOND FOR HURTING A CHILD!!!
ReplyDeleteI HOPE THE DA / JURY / JUDGE - THROWS THE BOOK AT HIM AND GIVES HIM A LIFE OR DEATH SENTENCE FOR HURTING AN INNOCENT CHILD - - - THERE ARE NO EXCUSES FOR HURTING ANY CHILD - - GIVE THEM LIFE OR PERMANENTLY REMOVE THEM FROM OUR SOCIETY BY GIVING THEM A DEATH SENTENCE...
What a horrible life that poor boy must have lived. He most probably was abused on a daily basis. I hope that our schools all open and stay open for children to attend in person. You cannot know how many children are physically and mentally abused every day and school may be their only Escape for a few hours each day. They can go to school and be in a more controlled and calm atmosphere they receive Food and most likely feel safe. So many children are abused in their homes and suffer in silence. People who abused and kill children are the absolute scum of society.
