Initial hearing held for Joplin man on federal meth conspiracy charges


The initial hearing for Troy D. Frost, 42, Joplin, on meth conspiracy charges was held this morning in U. S. District Court in Springfield.

The U. S. Attorney's office made a motion to hold Frost without bond while awaiting trial. The detention hearing is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday.

 Frost is one of seven area residents indicted by a grand jury for their alleged involvement in the meth conspiracy.

Three others, Bobby Stevens, 30, Joplin, Jeremy J. Sanders, 42, Carthage, and Dustin A. Teeter, 43, Webb City, are being held without bond in the Greene County Jail.







Also indicted were Jacinto Bernave, 31, Reeds, Amanda Consolver, 30, Joplin, and Oleysa A. Tiegs, 29, Carthage.

According to the 18-count indictment, the meth conspiracy began January 8, 2020 and continued until January 10 of this year. Most of the alleged crimes took place in Jasper County with two occurring in Newton County.
