A March 3 preliminary hearing is scheduled in Jasper County Circuit Court for Todd John Mayes, 59, Joplin, who is charged with first degree murder in connection with the January 9 shooting death of his 17-year-old daughter.
A hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Wednesday, according to online court records.
According to the probable cause statement, Mayes shot the girl following an argument in which she threw a bottle at him, going downstairs, taking a gun out of a drawer, then returning to shoot her, going back downstairs and placing the gun back in the drawer.
