Carterville man charged with meth possession with intent to distribute

A criminal complaint filed today in U. S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri charges a Carterville man with possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

According to the complaint, a Carl Junction police officer attempted to stop Cody Goucher, 44, who had committed several traffic violations and was driving with his headlights off on Joplin Street on October 7, 2022.

Goucher drove away, but the officer later discovered Goucher's car was in the ditch and Goucher was lying outside the car, injured. The officer began administering first aid, but after other officers arrived, he began to examine the scene and found a green backpack that contained a large amount of methamphetamine.
