Official caught on video shoving 9-year-old to ground prohibited from refereeing youth sports

The referee who was captured on video shoving a 9-year-old football player to the ground during a Carthage youth football game September 23 will not be allowed to officiate at any more games- at least not while he is on bond.

An arrest warrant signed today by Judge Joseph Hensley sets bond for Ray Douglas Rector (DOB 1962) at $2,000 surety or $500 cash with the stipulation that Rector "may not referee any youth sports while out on bond."

The charge against Rector is a misdemeanor.

Any Adult that pushes, shoves, hits, etc., - a child has to be held accountable. Mr. Ray Douglas Rector - will learn that his bad decision to shove this child will affect him the rest of his life. Even though this is a misdemeanor - the parents and/or the victim - could sue him civilly in court - for a multitude of damages.

This should be a pretty open and shut case - Mr. Ray Douglas Rector - should never be allowed to Referee or Participate in any Future Youth Activities. Again, One Stupid Decision will affect him the rest of his life. Which should be a good reason to think before doing anything rash and stupid - that it may have lifelong consequences - even though a lot of people would like to see frontier justice occur.

Hopefully if needed the Child should receive any Counseling to mitigate any long-term issues caused by the trauma - of being shoved.

These leagues need to thoroughly vet and background check any Adults that come in contact with these children.
