The Carthage Police Department arrested a Webb City man Sunday for felony driving while intoxicated- the fifth time he has been arrested for drunk driving since March 21, 2020.
I detected a strong odor of intoxicants emitting from the interior of the vehicle. I observed Gonzalez-Vasquez's eyes to be bloodshot and watery. Gonzalez-Vasquez stated that he had consumed 2 beers when asked.
The officer noticed "a partially consumed Corona beer in the center console cup holder."
At the station, Gonzalez-Vasquez consented to a blood alcohol test, which registered at .246 percent, more than three times the legal limit.
During the interview, Gonzalez-Vasquez said he had only had one beer.
In addition to the March 21, 2020 DWI arrest, the probable cause statement indicates Gonzalez-Vasquez was arrested for drunk driving August 9, 2020, and twice earlier this year- on January 26 and January 27.
In addition to the DWI charge, the Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney's office also cited Gonzalez-Vasquez for failure to drive on the right half of the roadway and for excessive window tint.
A warrant has been issued for Gonzalez-Vasquez with bond set at $10,000 cash or surety.
