Joplin man faces meth distribution, weapons charges following bicycle traffic stop

The Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney's office filed meth distribution and weapons charges against a Joplin man who came to the police's attention when he violated traffic laws on his bicycle Sunday.

According to the probable cause statement, Jock Gray (DOB 1980) failed to use hand signals while making a turn. Gray was arrested on four Joplin city warrants for failure to appear.

From the probable cause statement:

During the search incident to arrest I located a black taurus G2C in a fanny pack along his waist during a safety sweep. I asked Gray if there was anything else on him he didn’t want to bring to jail, Gray advised there was "dope" in his black bag.

At the jail I located one sandwich size clear bag and a gallon sized clear bag with a white crystal like substance, rolled up money with a blue band around it, a glass pipe with burns on the bottom.

In total there was $875 dollars in Gray's possession. The white crystal-like substance weighed 111 grams. Gray's criminal history indicated he was a convicted felon out of Oklahoma.

A warrant has been issued for Gray's arrest with bond set at $25,000 cash or surety.
