Mediation session scheduled in Joplin woman's lawsuit against Target


The two sides in a Joplin woman's lawsuit against Target will meet for mediation session 9 a.m. April 2 with attorney Ron Mitchell at Ron Mitchell Mediation in Joplin.

In the lawsuit, which was initially filed October 24 in Jasper County Circuit Court then removed to federal court by Target, Alice Boyer, 86, claimed she was standing at a checkout when she caught her heel on a plate, flipped backward and fell.

In the response, filed Dec. 12 in U. S. District Court for the Western District of Missouri, Target official placed the blame on Boyer's carelessness.








If the sides don't reach a settlement during mediation, the case will continue.
