An 86-year-old Joplin woman is suing Target for damages she says she suffered when she caught her heel on a metal plate and fell February 7, 2021.
According to the petition, which was filed today in Jasper County Circuit Court, Alice Boyer was standing at a checkout when she caught her heel on the plate, flipped backward and fell.
The plate and the subsequent fall caused the following results, according to Boyer:
-(She) sustained bodily injury to her hip, back, neck, bodily bruising, and loss of hearing from the fall, all causing pain and suffering, past, present and future, mental anguish, humiliation, and inconvenience.
-Plaintiff has incurred and will continue to incur a substantial sum for injury-related medical care and treatment.
-Plaintiff has also suffered a loss of enjoyment of life in that her activities have and will continue to be limited by the injury.
Boyer is asking for damages, costs and interest.

Just a little more of the Republicons 'tort reform' and the store will be able to sue Granny for business interruption while her blood was cleaned up and the ambulance was parked out front scaring shoppers away!
Don't be so rude!!! The lady fell have a heart wow...target shouldn't of had a hazardous situation there for it to of happened in the 1st place. It was dangerous!! Poor granny deserves everything she can get from that store. Good luck granny!!
