Probable cause: 15th Street Walmart employee admits she stole $200, investigation indicates she took $2,700


The Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney's office filed felony stealing charges today against a 15th Street Walmart employee who allegedly stole $2,704 in cash.

According to the probable cause statement, Gillian Faith Carter (DOB 2002), Webb City, was being investigated by Walmart management after being seen on video in the cash office "taking cash while dropping tills on multiple occasions.







"Gillian would take amounts from different tills using money bags to conceal or rolling up the money in receipts before pocketing them."

Carter admitted to Walmart management that she stole $200, the probable cause statement said.

However, during the investigation it was found the total loss was approximately $2,704.

The case was investigated by the Joplin Police Department.
