Assault charge filed against Carthage man who allegedly beat girlfriend, tried to push her out of moving car

An arrest warrant has been issued for a Carthage man who allegedly beat his girlfriend while they were driving through a roundabout in Webb City and then tried to push her out of the moving car.

Bond has been set at $5,000 surety or $1,000 cash for Adrian Salas (DOB 1991) with the conditions that he not have any contact with the girlfriend or do any driving.

From the probable cause statement:

Victim 1 was riding in the car with her boyfriend when they got in an argument at the East Road / MacArthur Ave round-a-bout in Webb City.

Victim 1 stated her boyfriend Adrian Salas had started hitting her while he was driving the vehicle. Adrian was hitting Victim 1 with a closed fist and clubbing her with it in the left shoulder.

Adrian also punched Victim 1 once in the face when he pulled into the Sleep Inn parking lot north of the round-a-bout. Adrian pulled out of the parking lot and started driving to the house where he and Victim 1 live.
On the way home, Victim 1 stated that Adrian told her to get out of the car and attempted to push her out of the moving car. Adrian then left after arriving at the house and Victim 1 called the police. When Victim 1 showed me where she was hit, I noticed redness upon her left shoulder and on her left jawline.

The case was investigated by the Jasper County Sheriff's Office.
