Alba man bound over for trial for sixth DWI


An Alba man was bound over for trial on a felony driving while intoxicated charge following a preliminary hearing today in Jasper County Circuit Court.

Dakota Lee Bell (DOB 1993) will be arraigned 9 a.m. November 21 in Division III.

The Joplin Police Department arrested Bell August 11 after he crashed the black 2006 he was driving into a white SUV at 20th and Davis Boulevard, while trying to evade a roadblock that had been set up to stop him.








If Bell is convicted, it will be his sixth conviction for driving while intoxicated, according to the complaint, filed in Jasper County Circuit Court:

1. On or about December 18, 2015, defendant was convicted of driving while intoxicated, for events occurring on October 5, 2015, in the Circuit Court of Jasper County, 

2. On or about March 9, 2015, defendant was convicted of driving while intoxicated, for events occurring on May 24, 2014, in the Circuit Court of Jasper County, 







3. On or about May 16, 2012, defendant was convicted of driving while intoxicated, for events occurring on May 26, 2011, in the Circuit Court of Jasper County, Municipal Division of Webb City, 

4. On or about September 19, 2011, defendant was convicted of driving while intoxicated, for events occurring on September 10, 2010, in the Circuit Court of Jasper County, 

5. On or about September 19, 2011, defendant was convicted of driving while intoxicated, for events occurring on August 7, 2010, in the Circuit Court of Jasper County.
