Carl Junction woman charged with DWI for fourth time

A Carl Junction woman with a record that includes three previous driving while intoxicated arrests and two convictions, was charged with felony DWI following a traffic stop by the Webb City Police Department at MacArthur and Colonial Sunday.

Bond was set at $5,000 cash or surety for Natasha Leeann Altic (DOB 1988). Altic was also cited for driving while revoked, having an open container, expired plates, failing to maintain financial responsibility and for having defective equipment.

From the probable cause statement:

Ms. Altic made several lane violations and was stopped for them. Ms. Altic has several open shooter bottles inside the vehicle and smelled strongly of intoxicants. 

Sobriety tests were conducted which she performed poorly on and showed signs of impairment. She was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated. 

After reading her implied consent she refused to give a sample of her breath. 

After looking at her criminal history it was discovered she had three previous arrests for DWI with two being convictions. It showed she her first DWI was on 06/21/2017 through Christian Co Cir Crt - Ozark, MO, Case# 17CTCR00078. The second conviction was 01/22/2019 through Jasper Co Cir Crt - Carthage, MO, Case # 17APCR01212. The other was 07/03/2017 through MO HP Troop D - Springfield, MO but it showed to be closed.

Online court records show Christian County sentenced Altic to 30 days in jail in 2017; the sentence was suspended, but she had to spend 48 hours shock time and do 40 hours of community service.

Under a plea bargain agreement with the Jasper County Prosecuting Attorney's office, Altic was sentenced to one year in prison January 22, 2019 for DWI. The sentence was suspended, and she was placed on unsupervised probation for one year. She was required to complete a treatment program and either do 240 hours of community service or be jailed for 10 days of shock time.
