Bill White pours $10,000 into challenger David Osborn's Newton County treasurer campaign

Former Sen. Bill White, R-Joplin, has contributed $10,000 to the campaign of David Osborn, who is challenging incumbent Newton County treasurer Gina Rodriguez for the Republican nomination.

Missouri Ethics Commision documents show White gave the Osborn campaign a $5,000 contribution May 18 and chipped in with another $5,000 July 1.

Osborn's Ethics Commission filings show he has raised $11,900 during his campaign, with only $1,900 coming from sources other than White, including a $1,000 loan from Osburn.

Osborn has used some of the money to buy $2,987.25 worth of advertising with KSNF, $950 with Show Me the Ozarks, $1,302 with Lamar Advertising for billboards and $1,800 to Adrenaline Apparel, Monett, for signs.

Osborn's 8-day-before-election filing shows $5,100 in receipts- $5,000 from White and $100 from former State Representative and Newton County Commissioner Marilyn Ruestman.

As of that filing, Osborn had spent $8,206.27 and had $2,693.73 in the bank.

Rodriguez' disclosure forms indicate she has received $10,770 and spent $9,463.77.

Top contributors to the Rodriguez campaign include Christina Wade $1,000, Steve Haskins $2,500 and Jayne Haskins $1,500.

Rodriguez spent $2,000 to Major Enterprises, Neosho, for billboard advertising, $1,010 to KBTN/KKOW for radio advertising, $3,950.15 to One24Rags, Neosho, for signs, $1,007.08 to All Seasons for mailers.

When will these two "exceptionally trustworthy" candidates face off in a debate? I would usually never attend anything magat, and don't give a rip about either one, but this has potential free entertainment value worth seeing. Maybe like a local professional wrestling match?

Do you fools still believe in this?
Thankfully it’s documented down below so there is no argument about what a fool she is

The pronoun protagonist strikes again! In addition to dei, there appears an obvious few other little items taking up space and stuck in the rent free zone of the inquiring minds of magats.

What does Harris and her pronouns have anything to do with the newton county treasurer race? Somebody's overly consumed again.

Ouch! You really know how to apply the burn 1257, I'm forever a changed individual and really need more of your razor sharp wit and amazing wisdom everyday! By the way, this thread is about 2 magat individuals running for treasurer of newton county. Neither one is particularly well liked and at least one carries a great deal of baggage (and lawsuits) in county (drama) relationships, particularly with county commissioners. Sorry to burst your bubble of exemplary intellect, but at least stay on topic please. We all would like your educated opinion of this situation asap.

What the heck are all these caveman responses. As I always need to say, "Welcome to Joplin!" Gina is an amazing person, and I taught both of her kids back in the day. The challenger is a power monger and wants prestige. It would be a mistake to not elect her.

A career politician and a power monger looking for significance. I've heard this magat script before. It didn't turn out well and we're all still paying for it.

Sounds like she could be associated with a criminal.
