Neosho R-5 School District mourns loss of middle school librarian

Neosho R-5 Superintendent Jim Davis released the following statement today concerning the death this morning of middle school librarian Autumn Qualls in a four-vehicle accident this morning on U. S. 60 three and a half miles east of Seneca.

The Neosho School District is heartbroken to confirm that one of our dedicated staff members, Mrs. Autumn Qualls, Neosho Middle School librarian, was involved in a fatal car accident this morning. Our heartfelt condolences are with her family and friends during this very difficult time.

She was an important part of our school family, as she worked in the district for almost 20 years. She was always committed to the well-being and success of our students.

Additional support from our counseling team will be available at Neosho Middle School for the remainder of the week.

Thank you for understanding as we support our community through this time of grief.

I am a former student of Neosho, I graduated a couple years ago. But, I remember Mrs. Qualls and she was the best librarian. She always made sure all the students knew she was there for them. She will never be forgotten. R.I.P Mrs. Qualls
