Judge orders Newtonia man to continue to be held without bond on child abuse charge

Jordan Boggess, 28, Newtonia, will remain behind bars while awaiting trial on felony child abuse charges following a bond hearing Tuesday in Newton County Circuit Court.

Judge Jacob Skouby did not set a bond and granted the defense's motion for a change of judge. The case has been sent to the presiding judge for assignment.

Jordan was charged after allegedly administering abuse September 14 that left his fiancee's 9-month-old son clinging to life at Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
