In one of a series of YouTube videos, Carthage City Councilwoman Tiffany Cossey has posted in the final days before next Tuesday's recall election, she says she has been asked if the recall election is happening because she's a woman.
She opens and closes the three-minute video by saying she doesn't know.
"We know that men who are generally intimidated by women when they can't make them submit do tend to resort to anger. They exhibit a lot of anger. We have certainly seen our fair share of that at City Council meetings."
As examples of this anger, Cossey noted that one man had threatened another councilwoman Jana Schramm, referring to an incident in which the man told Schramm she was "next," and referred to another man who stood up and talked at a council meeting during the summer, spoke "very angrily" and "He was the subject of a restraining order by one of his many former wives."
"So is there anger involved? Yes, there is."
After that she turned her attention to Councilwoman Lori Leece.
"And those same people tend to support the one female City Council member we have who's very meek and mild and timid.
"So they do seem to have a type that they prefer."
"Whether or not they closed ranks and it was the He-Man Woman Hater's Club, I don't know. but again you know there's some food for thought there.
"It makes other people wonder. It makes me start to wonder."
In conclusion, Cossey says she doesn't know if the recall is related to her gender, but "if they've chosen to target me because I'm female and if they think that they can make me submit or that they can intimidate me, they have definitely chosen the wrong woman for that."

Yes, Tiffany when you stole signs right is right and wrong is wrong!
She is such a horrible person. The treats Leece like crap during council meetings. Cossey was nearly censured for being terrible to city employees. She is backed by the wealthy of Carthage. Many of her supporters are aligned with L&P or H.E. Williams. These are C-Suite MEN, BTW.
This is all about money and nothing else. L&P is publicly traded so her supporters who work for L&P will have their net worth from stocks readily available via SEC filings. Several have well over 200K shares and are worth in excess of $3M. These are the MEN who support her so maybe she can cut the crap.
Heckmaster is affiliated with property owners who wanted to sale land to the city $2M over valuation so she would have benefitted from the sale. The refusal to buy the land was a driver in the firing of Dagnan after Peterson quit. None of the CCU people have taken a moment to figure out why Peterson quit over a land deal (the know of course). They blame Dagnan and deny Peterson stole money.
There are federal code violations aplenty and rumor has it Peterson has spoken with the Feds through his attorney to offer a proffer and possibly get federal charges deferred. He won't do well in prison. I can see target letters being sent out soon to get more storytellers.
Behind CCU is the Putnam dude who is corrupt or just plain stupid. Although it is possible he is both. He started all of this and I would venture to say he has some financial interest in the land deal. The same with the owners of HFI in Carthage.
The little crazy dude who calls himself an investigative reporter maybe should stop attacking others and actually investigate the motivations of the CCU. Maybe he should post the timeframe of when requests were rightfully sent to CWEP asking for financials and their refusal to provide it.
Same little dude may want to look at why board members of the K.D. and M.L. Steadley Memorial Trust have donated to CCU candidates. The Trust's valuation is between $10M and $49M. Why are they so interest when most live outside of the city now.
There is a story there and I am pretty sure there are some crimes there too.

You know 6:18, maybe the Carthage elite that you refer to and seem to covet, got to where they are for a reason? Perhaps they actually know how to run something? You don't get to be successful unless you know what you're doing. To the lengthy post, that has some truth and some rumors. Not everyone at L & P stands behind or supports Tiffany Cossey. Goodness.
Tiffany is not disliked as a Council Mbr due to her gender. It’s due to her prideful and arrogant habit of violating the Sunshine Law, bullying other City officers and employees, arriving at meetings ill-prepared and offering up erroneous move after erroneous move in all arrogance. Plus, and likely most of all, for participating in a vengeance campaign to remove City leaders for Mark Peterson’a having been charged with 5 federal felonies, and in aiming to please his social circle friends and golfing buds, the CCU.
Mark Peterson was charged with 5 federal felonies for theft from City of Carthage and money laundering. Only mere days later, at the next City Council Meeting, Tiffany Cossey took a moment to publicly share she “expects to see him fully exonerated”. But, she also complained from then forward about how the Council was not allowed to see the results of the forensic audit. (It was rightfully and legally not theirs to see at that point.) Which confirms her publicly expressed expectation of his exoneration was based upon thin air. She was serving at the CCUs pleasure, to exact their revenge on anyone in leadership who allowed Mr Peterson’s former Parks Dept to undergo forensic audit which resulted in his being federally charged with several crimes.
It is thought Mr Peterson’s passion for the PM land deal was over the reality if he was able to get that passed, the money he needs to repay the City of Carthage would be made available to him by the land owner out of the 2 million dollar profit which would have been made from selling the land to the City for far over it’s valuation. Is that true? I have no way of knowing. Seems a logical path for coming up with the money he took. His charged up emotions over the failure of the deal also align with that possibility. We don’t know.
But, we certainly know Tiffany has always been at work for the CCU and Mark Peterson, who again, before she ever saw the results of the forensic audit, proudly announced in the next meeting after he was charged, she expects to see him fully exonerated. That small statement was a huge tell as to what was going on.
Then, joining her, was another person who had zero access to the findings of the outside forensic audit. The head of the CCU, Mr Putnam. He also immediately publicly proclaimed, at a City Council meeting, the innocence of Mark Peterson while having zero possible avenue to any facts that could ever be a basis for saying something that grand and that early.
We’ve all known, anyone who is honest, what’s been going on in Carthage for a long while. These late date attempts by Tiffany and CCU supporters to be casting silly blame and claiming she’s merely a victim of this or that for the difficulties Tiffany Cossey faces are honestly ridiculous.
She is disliked as a Council member because she breaks the Code of Ethics at nearly every meeting. Has led the Council in violating the Sunshine Law multiple times. She is vengeful, mean-spirited, openly insults, degrades, and attacks others constantly. These are the true reasons she is found unsuitable to be a community leader.
Many are only successful because they are corrupt, quid pro quo is their motto, and they leverage anyone they can to get what they want. Bill Putnam is a prime example. So is Chuck Bryant. Dagnan exposed their years-long theft from the city by using the pro shop to launder money (no, it’s not just Mark Peterson). They are scrambling hard and fast because they finally got caught.
Amazing how the Hate side deflects and fabricates their narrative. Turner is clearly not neutral as well. Can't prove anything so rely on a sideshow of people not directly involved. The worst of Tiffany is you think she's mean. Freakin' hilarious.
I don't know Chuck, Peterson, or Putnam, but I do know they actually live in Carthage and aren't always on social media acting a fool.

You’d have to be blind (or just not reading) not to see all that’s happened and all that’s been highlighted by many people who are very concerned. But sure, continue loyally along in blindness not giving a flip about the City of Carthage. Interestingly, loyal only, to people charged with actual crimes.
11:44 L&P has laid off how many employees in the past year or so? How many plants closed? Operating income changes? Growth? EPS changes? How about GP the past 24 months? Know how to run something? I challenge that assertion. The company is performing terribly.
They do know how to secure profits for themselves and abuse their positions for personal gain. L&P is no longer what it was because of the individuals, and those like them, who have aligned with Cossey. This elitist attitude is no longer the way to conduct business and is proven by the company's abysmal performance.
They can stop blaming Covid anytime now. I like the "Hate Group" because it's just regular people frustrated by the actions of the CCU backed candidates. Your assumption they are "underachievers" is based upon personal offense and being challenged by some blue collar type you despise. The same ones who probably work for you but secretly hate you.
I will assume you are associated with the L&P people and may even be a VP of something or other tasked with explaining the company failures to your shareholders. Have you checked your stock recently? May want to hold off on donating money to CCU or buying a new driver. Maybe update your LinkedIn profile to see if you get any hits from an actual profitable company like RTX, AWS, or even Wal-Mart. I do appreciate the suggestion I covet a position with L&P or H.E. Williams. I would rather eat a bucket of turds than work for either of those companies. Perfectly happy in my current role with my current employer. Our Rev grows every year, unlike L&P's. We do hire from L&P ranks sometimes. They're so much happier now.
Cossey isn't terse. She is a terrible person who has been abusive to city employees and has been caught lying several times. She is a poorly reviewed instructor at a small private college that receives little to no national recognition. I have to ask where are her research papers to be found at? Where are her successes as a lawyer posted? Her impressive legal victories? Her arguments in front of an appellate court? Why has she been wrong so frequently if she is so brilliant? She may be the smartest CCU candidate but that is like being the smartest kid with Down's Syndrome.
If Cossey keeps her seat it will not be by an overwhelming percentage of voters. Like the "Hate Group" the majority of her supporters reside outside the city or outside of her ward.

Not because she is a Woman, but because they see what she has either contributed or not contributed to her position on the council. Then we can start focusing back on the Council doing the job they were originally elected to do.

Cossey is a Carthage Council member that has made remarks and has taken actions that effects all of Carthage. REGARDLESS of he outcome of the recall on Nov 5th, given enough time, Cossey has shown who she really is. That is why people are in support of Cossey being recalled... hopefully we can begin to heal
If she loses she won't like the voters who recalled her!
A characteristic of some politicians seems to be that they come with a health dose of "LOOK AT ME!" behavior, which is most likely a part of why they are politics in the first place. They seem to believe being an edgy cool contrarian who annoys others is "asserting dominance." If anyone doesn't support their antics, then they'll accuse you of being a 'hater' and blame all their troubles on the 'hate groups' that hate them.
