(From the Aurora Fire Department)Today at approximately 1:39 p.m., the Aurora City Fire Department was dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 100 block of St. Louis Street. Initial reports indicated possible entrapment involving two children located in a bedroom.
The initial response crew consisted of Captain Harley Stice, Firefighter Caleb Blystone, Firefighter Emilie Jones, and Firefighter Ty Novack. Upon arrival, crews immediately initiated rescue operations. Captain Stice, assisted by the fire crew, successfully located and rescued both children from the residence.
Simultaneously, the crew deployed an attack line and equipped with self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), made entry into the structure to suppress the fire. The fire was quickly brought under control and extinguished.
The Aurora City Fire Department was assisted on scene by the Aurora Police Department, the Aurora Rural Fire Protection District, and Mercy Ambulance.
