Two establishments fail Joplin Health Department inspections

Two establishments, El Vallarta Mexican Restaurant, 2330 S. Range Line Road and Joplin High School's Jo Joe's Coffee/Eagle Pantry failed Joplin Health Department inspections, according to information posted on the department website. 

Thirteen establishments passed their inspections.

El Vallarta Mexican Restaurant

El Vallarta Mexican Restaurant recorded four priority violations and 15 core violations.

The priority violations were for the following reasons:

-Evidence of employee vaping was observed in the food prep area.

-Potentially hazardous foods in the coolers have missing or improper date marking.

-Questo in the hot well was being hot held below 135 degrees.

-Containers of Windex are not labeled as to their contents.

Joplin High School: Jo Joe's Coffee/Eagle Pantry

Jo Joe's Coffee/Eagle Pantry received a priority violation for having mouse droppings in the cabinet underneath the three-compartment sink.
