Chief: Church shooter's weapons were legal

The weapons used by accused killer Eiken Elam Saimon during the triple murders at the First Congregational Church in Neosho were legal, according to Neosho Police Chief David McCracken:

McCracken said four or five weapons were found in Saimon's rural home. The gunman had two weapons with him in the First Congregational Church, 1 of them a 9 millimeter semiautomatic pistol.

The chief said all of Saimon's weapons were legally permitted in the county and were purchased legally.

He said Saimon had no criminal history in the area, expect for a handful of public intoxication arrests.
