Flag at Illinois State to fly half-staff to honor slain Neosho soldier
The flag on the quad at Illinois State University will fly at half staff from sunrise Nov. 13 to sunset Nov. 16 in honor of Master Sgt. Thomas Crowell, O'Fallon, Ill., who was killed by a roadside bomb earlier this month. Sgt. Crowell, 36, was a graduate of Neosho High School.
The flag is lowered to half staff any time an Illinois soldier gives his life for his country.
Services for Sgt. Crowell are scheduled for Tuesday at Andrews Air Force Base with burial in Arlington National Cemetery.
