Rep. Ed Emery's bill to repeal the state income tax and replace it with a sales tax, HB 2112, received a "do pass" today from the Special Committee on Tax Reform.
Emery, a Lamar Republican, and Rep. Bryan Stevenson, R-Webb City, are among the members of the committee.

I'm sure Kansas City's, St. Louis's Joplin's business communities are really lining up to support this bill. Because, naturally, higher taxes on retail items will be sending people across the state lines in droves to purchase in Missouri. On top of that, it will also be a huge boon for the tourists trade. Why go to a state with low sales taxes when they can go to Missouri.
WAY TO GO! If we could now get this on a federal level.
