The chairman of the House Utilities Committee, Ed Emery, R-Lamar, picked up nearly half of the $8,693.10 he raised during the past quarter from the utilities who are affected by legislation that goes through his committee.
Emery's disclosure report, filed today with the Missouri Ethics Commission shows at least $4,203.10 coming from utilities, topped by $1,203.10 in an in-kind contribution from Ameren UE.
Emery also received $1,000 from Sprint Nextel, $1,000 from AT&T, $500 from Empire District Electric, and $500 from the Missouri Energy Development Association PAC.
Emery, a candidate for the State Senate seat currently held by Delbert Scott, R-Lowry City, ended the quarter with $3,683.31 in his account.
