Driving while intoxicated charges have been filed against a Webb City attorney following a Jasper County Sheriff's Office check on a suspicious vehicle Thursday.
It was the second DWI charge for Keith Justin Pennick, 46, according to the probable cause statement filed in Jasper County Circuit Court.
Jasper County Deputy Chris Thresher, answering the call to 30375 Hill Lane, saw a white pickup truck was stuck in the yard.
Once on scene, I observed a white male, later identified as Keith Pennick, operating the vehicle, spinning his tires. to get his vehicle unstuck.
After speaking with the owner of the home, I was advised they didn't know Keith. The owner of the house lived by herself and no one was supposed to be at the home. I spoke with Keith and was told he was leaving the home. He said his friend lived at the home.
Thresher said he smelled a "strong odor of intoxicants" on Pennick's breath. The probable cause statement indicates Thresher administered a preliminary blood test that showed a blood alcohol content of .234 percent, just below three times the legal limit.
After Pennick was taken to jail, he refused to provide a breath sample, according to the statement.
The statement indicates Pennick has a previous drunk driving conviction.
