Former State Senator Ed Emery, R-Lamar, who is a candidate for the Fourth District Congressional seat, collapsed during a speech to the Randolph County Republican Women's organization Tuesday night and is critical, but stable condition at University Hospital in Columbia.
The Lamar Democrat reports CPR was performed on the 71-year-old Emery, who served eight years in the Missouri Senate and eight years in the House.
